Mother's Day 2023

Happy belated Mother’s Day to all of the moms who do so incredibly much for their families and then read this or check in via text and pour into me with their support, positivity, prayers, knowledge, and relatable ways! It's so nice to know I have the support, wisdom, guidance, and humor of so many amazing mamas. I appreciate you and hope you had a relaxing and fun day full of love on Sunday.

For those of you who have a tough time with this holiday, I am still sending my love and support to you. <3

We'll be celebrating with my oh so special mom when we see her for our baby shower this upcoming end of week/weekend, so we're looking forward to that!

Otherwise, we kind of eased into celebrating my unofficial/official Mother’s Day on Sunday. Do we celebrate yet? Do we not celebrate? I guess you can say we kind of low-key made the day slightly special this year.

We started the day out with some family cuddles, like the way all weekend mornings start!
We headed to church and our pastor had a reallyyy good message about marriage. They honored the moms at the beginning and ooooh boy, these hormones… had tears coming out of my eyes and had to try so hard not to collapse into just one big pile of tears!

They gave away these sweet little succulents to the moms after.
We had some Cher, Brecks and Auntie Baba FaceTime time again while I waited in the car as Shane got his weekly haircut. Happy boy was babbling and telling me all about his big birthday party the day before!
Shane and I ran a few errands and then grabbed lunch at a new to us Mexican restaurant. It was so good! I think this was the best Mexican we’ve had since Houston. We loved eating outside and enjoying the weather too.
I had myself a little non-alcoholic strawberry smoothie.

We changed up the scenery for the weekly bump pic. Our waiter gave me a rose for Mother's Day 😊
Even though it was technically Mother’s Day, every day is dogs’ day so we headed to the bark park on base for a bit. We (they) didn’t last long in the heat, but it did the trick until their late afternoon walk.
We spent the rest of the day being productive. Handyman Shane over here was doing his thing. Shane was gone all day Saturday for a Washington Nationals baseball game with some guys he works with, he had duty for 24 hour yesterday, and he has a dinner ceremony for work tonight, so he's basically gone for 24 hours again. We have to knock things off our list on the days he is home lately!
Otherwise, we spent some time chatting with a bunch of neighbors outside, eating a homemade dinner at home, and watching a movie together. Sweet and easy!

I saw this meme and it made me laugh...In all seriousness, this 100% goes against exactly what we were reminded of in church today, but 🤣

Last year, I was glad to be able to spend Mother's Day with my mom in Vernon Hills. You can read about that here:

That's it! Again, I hope you all had a great weekend and thanks for all your love!
