Hey, Thursday!
Before I get into today's post, I want to say Happy 1st Birthday to our nephew, Brecken!!! We love you so much and can't wait to celebrate with you soon!
Since time is flying right along, I figured it would be a good time to give a little official bumpdate for Baby B.
We are a few weeks into the 3rd trimester already, so I thought it would be fun to look back at the 1st and 2nd trimesters. This pregnancy has really seem to have gone by so quickly so far.
As you can see, I don’t have the patience to put on the same outfit for a bump pic each week. Oops!
I was in maternity pants/jeans at week 10 of this pregnancy and had to switch over to maternity tops at about 23 weeks. I did start this pregnancy heavier and having a hard time fitting into some of clothes though- I gained a lot during the whole miscarriages process
One thing that I never realized about pregnancy before this was how long it takes to start showing. Of course, every woman is different, but I was surprised by not really showing until around/after 20 weeks. At least for me, I feel like once you start showing, YOU'RE SHOWING though!
This 24 week picture is special because it was taken after we had a successful, extra good news echocardiogram at the pediatric cardiologist after baby was difficult during the 20 week anatomy scan and 24 week follow up anatomy scan- and they were unsure if there were heart issues with the baby. We celebrated with a lunch out near the children's hospital in Fairfax that we were at!
Looking at these later pictures is a little surprising for me because I feel like my bump isn't that big (unless I'm trying to get up off the couch or roll over in bed, that is). I guess it feels smaller than it looks in pictures though! I sometimes wonder if people can see it/if it's noticeable or if I just look overall large, but then I see some of these later on pictures and I'm like ohhhh....yep.
At week 26, I thought a lot of my flowy and loose dresses would still fit for church on Sundays, but the majority of them did NOT! You can see the swelling (especially my legs/feet) begins at about this point too, yikes.
It depends on what I'm wearing, but I have definitely gotten a lot of comments that I'm carrying high. We'll see what that means for gender eventually…
And below here's a little sneak peek of the 3rd trimester so far because I feel like things have really taken off recently.
Baby is measuring ahead now and I don't know how this bump is going to grow for 2 more months! Did you feel this way at your 3rd trimester too?
My midwife printed off my prenatal records JUST in case I deliver early when we’re in Chicago next week; I literally laughed when she said that. I was born early at 32/33 weeks, so I guess ya never know! I know we’re inducing at least a week early due to my blood thinners, and we would have to induce earlier than that if there’s an issue with our Umbilical Vein Varix complication that we recently discovered the baby/I have, butttt let’s just hold our horses. 🤣
Note to self: don't take these bump pics first thing in the morning when I'm still puffy and swollen! Sheesh!
Less than 10 weeks to go!
How was your experience with your baby bump/showing/carrying?? I would love to hear! It’s so interesting how there can be so many similarities but also so many differences. I would love to see your bump pics too!!
Hope your Thursday is warm and springlike! Just a usual day of walks, yoga, some life tasks, and work over here in my little world. Thanks for following along in this little memory book/creative outlet for me.

Love love LOVE these bump pics!! Can’t wait to chat with Baby B next week 🥰 - (auntie) SB
