Hey!
We hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving holiday with your loved ones and that you ate lots of good food. We just got back in town Sunday evening, so this Thanksgiving post is coming at ya when many of you are in the Christmas spirit, but any time is a good time to re-celebrate a holiday with family!
We actually had our 2nd wedding anniversary yesterday, so there are lots of posts to catch up on in the coming days!
Nevertheless, here's Thanksgiving 2022...We were able to celebrate with family at my parents' in Vernon Hills, Illinois, so we are so grateful for that.
On Wednesday, we started the drive from Woodbridge, VA to my parents' house in Vernon Hills. Since Shane had to work for most of the day Wednesday, we hit the road around late afternoon/early evening, so we just planned on driving part of the way. Thankfully, driving to VH from Virginia is about 5ish hours shorter than from our drive to VH from North Carolina. Yay for that!
We stayed overnight in Pittsburgh and then got into Vernon Hills on Thanksgiving day in the afternoon. Per usual, Cashy loves himself a hotel.
On actual Thanksgiving, we headed to the Earhart's to celebrate. It was just the adults, Tom Earhart, Shane, and me- so it was small celebration but still fun as always! Since we were having turkey later that weekend, we actually celebrated with homemade pizzas. That used to be our tradition on New Year's Day, but we did it on Thanksgiving day this year. So fun!
Shane was tossing his pizza crust until it literally hit the ceiling...always the entertainer!
Mr. Earhart was the pro expert coaching us on his pizzamaker.Every holiday we celebrate with them entails some Left, Right, Center...hah! It's a short little dice "gambling" game where everyone has to put in 3 dollars. Why don't I ever seem to win?! Every holiday also includes some other game that turns into absolute hilarity with them! We played Head's Up this time.
Oh, and Cash and Caylor joined us at the Earhart's as always to play with their bestie, Ellie! They LOVE playing there.
A little side note...Mrs. Earhart was showing me a reindeer decor she made out of their old fence posts. I requested one since it was so cute, and 2 days later, she showed up at my parents' with a new and improved version of her reindeer design for us! She didn't use any template or photo inspiration for this; it was all in her brain, as usual. So creative!
Our next Thanksgiving celebration was from Saturday to Sunday when some of my mom's side of the family came in town for our annual Thanksgiving get-together.
Brecken and I played with some of his toys that Uncle Shane and I got him.
I got Brecken dressed and Thanksgiving ready before everyone got there!
We ate, oohed and ahhed over Brecken, enjoyed family time...
And then made our annual Thanksgiving walk to the park across the lake from my parents' house...hah! With 18 guests (and MANY of those being young kids), the house was chaos, so we went to the park to have some fun and get some energy out.Shane was giving out rides to all the little cousins on this little trolley thing.
I took Brecken on his first swing!
Loved on this cutie some more...
I took Brecken on his first swing!
Then his mom and dad took him on his first teeter totter.
We snapped an impromptu family photo at Kid's Castle.Loved on this cutie some more...
And then walked on back to the house for some chatting, Shane wrestling all the boys again all evening, and for a family game.
Happy belated Thanksgiving to you and yours!
