Grandma Christensen

I know it's been a quiet week over here on JenerallyLemonade. It's been another difficult week for Shane and my's "immediate family", but it also turned into a sad week for our extended family on Shane's side.

His Grandma Christensen, Shane's mom, passed away Wednesday night. She was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer a month or so ago, went into hospice recently, and then went on to Heaven. We were grateful that we were able to Facetime with her just a week or so ago.
While we didn't get to spend as much time with her since she lived in Wisconsin, we were blessed that she was able to travel to Virginia to surprise Shane's mom for her birthday and to also go dress shopping for Shane's mom for our wedding with us a few years ago. At 92 years old, that was pretty incredible that she was able to go in and out of the car/all the stores with us for that special day. She lasted until Shane's mom's birthday dinner that night, as pictured below!

She was so pleasant, positive, upbeat, completely "with-it" still, and supportive. Her and Uncle Dean sent a selfie when Shane was deployed to show their support while wearing their red for RED (Remember Everyone Deployed) Fridays.
We were also extremely glad that she (at 92 years old) was able to make it all the way from Wisconsin to our wedding in Texas. That is such a special memory for us.
I adore these pictures of Shane and his Grandma Christensen, now more than ever.

And I love this pic of Shane dancing with Grandma Christensen at our wedding (while singing to her) just as much.

The Christensen side of the family that was graciously able to all be together in Texas
Uncle Dean, Shane's mom, Shane, Grandma Christensen, Aunt Bonny, and Shane's brother- Jon. We were just missing Aunt Toni here and then we would have had all of Grandma Christensen's kids together.
Us, the grandparents on Shane's side, and Shane's mom and brother
I love this picture of her smiling at me and Mimi (Shane's grandma on his dad's side of the family) after our ceremony.
Sending extra love to the Christensen family. We have faith and peace knowing that she is in Heaven with her creator, her husband, Shane's dad, and Shane's brother. <3
