Life Lately- April

This month pretty much looks like it was dogs with random food things interspersed...sounds about right.

Well, as March Madness finished up, Shane was 4,405 out of 17 million on ESPN with his brackets, but that even improved and he became 1,300th out of 17 million brackets! He won my brother's annual bracket with that big group. Crazy!

My domesticated husband used my sewing machine to sew his camis (military uniform); he became very frustrated and had quite a bit of YouTubing, but he did it.

He spent a full weekend day "redecorating" the setup of our room. Before he started, I was against it and told him it wouldn't work. What do you know? He moved all the furniture to find out it wouldn't really work, so he ended up moving it right back. At least this was a chance for him to deep clean under all the furniture when moving it around (and when demolishing the bed so it could be moved and cleaned under).
Lots of snuggling and obsessing over my Caylor girl, per usual
Weather warming up= a lot more trips to the island! This is the bridge we go over to get to the island/beach/beach town area. You can see the ocean in the back.
Any ideas for easy healthy-ish snacks? I have a ton of ideas, but when push comes to shove, I usually am lazy and would rather just be hungry than the effort to get/make/compile a snack. I tried to change that the other day...
Cash was busy being Cash all month long. This boy!

And Caylor was busy being Caylor throughout the month. Sweet, sweet girl.
My mom sent this pic from their wedding to me and my brother. We had never seen it!
Cash caught in the act of taking Caylor's bone/toy/anything she is giving any attention to, like always
Cash doing his typical stretch/sounds while Caylor just looking at him like he's crazy

Lots of errands and car trips together
Another random food thing- one of my favorite bloggers blogged about these Nacho flavored taco shells. I know it sounds like one of those gross flavor things, but she convinced me to try them. They are so good! My mom, Shane, and I are all way into them now. Shane and I love yellow rice so I always make it as a side dish to any Mexican dish we have.
Cash's new position is propping his bottom and one of his legs up on the ottoman always...you'll see what I mean. A strange dog!

Okay, so this next one is pretty random, but when I was at my parents' in early April, we ordered Chinese food. Since being diagnosed with Hashimoto's, I haven't really ordered Chinese because I feel like it would be difficult to find/communicate about gluten free. However, I know there's a place in Vernon Hills that has awesome gluten-free options, and that sounded good. We used to always get Royal Cantonese but now we now order from Hong Kong Chop Suey, and oh my gosh, what I ordered this time was SO GOOD. So many leftovers that I was so excited to it. I know it doesn't look that appetizing, but I had shrimp fried rice with beef/vegetable lo mein (but I got other naturall gluten-free noodles that were super wide and thick, in place of lo mein)
Hope you had a great April and here's to an even better May. April was just a mediocre month for us due to lots of reasons, so we are ready for May!
