Life Lately- Fall 2021

Well, Spring has been here...why not catch up on a few seasons ago of Fall?

It was nice having Shane back, of course, and we got in a beach day together. Fall is the time to go; the weather is still super warm but all of the crowds have gone.
It's hard to believe but I have yet to go to the ocean by myself to sit- I've been solo to walk the dogs, but on this day I did have a little bit of time to myself as I waited for my friend Amber to join me there!
Shane and I usually do our errands together with the dogs on Saturdays (the benefit of saving the errands all for one day and when it is such a journey to get to said errands...), but I do run to Publix and the library pretty frequently throughout the week, so the pups always love to ride along for those errands too!
Their faces...so much husky personality. They are too much.

Shane and I went to the nearby high school two evenings in the Fall to watch high school football. Shane loved watching the game while I watched the cheerleaders and the crowd. One evening we went to a pizza restaurant on the island beforehand and really made an evening of it. These evenings caused so many memories to resurface!
Shane planned a surprise at-home date night where he had gotten Fall decorating supplies from the store secretly the day before for us to decorate together while he grilled dinner for us.
He loves Fall so he was all for this. This was how my pumpkin turned out!
Caylor is OBSESSED with Shane. She is so possessive of him. She will let me give Cash any attention all day long (she gets it too!), but the second Shane sits or the second he gives attention to Cash, Caylor is inserting herself right into it. Sitting close to him is never good enough for her, she has to be basically inside him.

We sent Palmer (Stephanie's daughter) this adorable pillow!
When Shane was home early but when Andrue was still deployed, he joined Amber, the girls, and me to see the Blue Angels at Cherry Point (a nearby base). We made the drive there and spent all day there.
I was absolutely terrified. My family went to the Chicago Air and Water show when I was younger, right after September 11, and a plane that flew over out of nowhere absolutely terrified me. I thought I would be better now, but all it took was one of these planes swooping out of nowhere from behind, and I was very distraught again...like to the point that Shane had never seen me like that. It was bad, but I made it through the end of the show thankfully!

We took the pups to a pumpkin patch at a nearby church so we could get our pumpkins one Sunday.

And we set up our pumpkins on our front porch at home.
We had another beach day with the Potts' and we brought the dogs along this time since the weather was cooling down. Shane and Elizabeth had fun with them!

Shane was super into the Harry Potter series this past Summer/Fall, so it was nice to have someone reading alongside me.
I am the dinner chef in our household, but Shane is the breakfast/brunch cook.
The dogs enjoyed a few Saturdays at a new (to us) dog park in Wilmington. Can you spot Caylor?
There's a little fruit/seafood stand that we always pass on the way to Wilmington, and Shane and I stopped here one day. The fruit was great!

And more months of making memories with our C&C, of course!

Fall has gotten a LOT of praise and publicity in the last few years haha, it's definitely not my favorite season, but it's growing on me. Hope yours was full of family memories too!
