Halloween 2021 in Houston

My holidays are all out of order. Over here in blog world, it's Halloween time for me as I catch up on this past Halloween! In our typical style, our plans had a huge wrench thrown in them when we got stranded in Houston for a few days after our flights continuously got canceled.

By time we got back home, Halloween had come and gone, so we had to return our Halloween costumes without ever wearing them, but at least it allowed us to spend this special holiday with my best friend, Stephanie, and her family!

Before we got to Houston though, Shane decorated our house for the month. Our neighborhood seems to go all out with decorating for Halloween, so we found ourself getting caught up in it too. We love to take advantage of anything festive for holidays.
When we got to Houston, we finally got to meet sweet Palmer girl, Stephanie's baby.
She is too stinking cute!
We also got to hang out with Camden, which is always fun!
We got to see all of our church friends for Jacob and Sarah's wedding. Jacob was one of our groomsmen, and we love him and Sarah wholeheartedly! He is my OG "church boyfriend" who always stepped up to help out when Shane was gone for military training. Such a genuine Mississippi boy! And Sarah is the sweetest and so cute.
Ugh, we miss this group of friends SO much!

And this next series is a photoshoot between me (us) and Josh, one of our ushers. We are forever thankful for Josh for graciously paying for Shane's flight to Houston so that Shane could propose to me way back when. He insisted.

On actual Halloween, we were back with Stephanie and fam. Shane spent most of the day on the phone with the airlines, and when we found that we were stuck there for a few days, we of course made the best of it! There are MANY worse places for us to be stranded than in Houston.

Palmer had on her Halloween best.
There are no words to express how much this family has done for us and how much joy they bring into our lives. It's heartbreaking to live so far apart from then now after essentially "living with them" for so many years.
We all headed out to trick or treat together as Camden's entourage.

Camden looked through all of his candy but all of us adults stole much of it...
And back in NC, the dog sitter made sure Cash and Caylor enjoyed their Halloween too!

Hope your Halloween...way back when...was also a good one!
