Anniversary Gift Idea

We have a short and sweet post today.

I thought it'd be fun to share a company/gift idea. I used this company (see below) and gift idea for our first anniversary gift to Shane. I wanted something sentimental, memorable, and it also happened to go along with the traditional first anniversary gift of paper, which I loved even more!

I had a digital illustration made of our first house together (where we still currently live). 

As a military couple, I assume we will be moving around a LOT, and I know each house that we have will have specific milestones and memories for us, so I wanted to cherish them all- starting with this first, current house of ours.  I envision a hallway of our house decorated with all the illustrations of the houses we lived in.

This house stands out as being our first house, the first place we lived together, the place we lived when we had our "big" wedding and honeymoon, and the house we brought Cash and Caylor home to. Who knows what else this house will celebrate with us!

We got my dad a similar illustration (but of our VH house) that they've had for 30+ years and when he opened this gift, he cried and had nothing but sentimental praise for it. He appreciated it and it touched him even more than we expected! He kept repeating how outstanding it was.

I know there are a ton of options of vendors to use for a gift like this, but we used SolidRockDesignCo on Etsy- who happened to be based out of Houston, and they were great to work with.
